Israeli pumpkin, melon and watermelon: Agriculture Ministry delegation promotes cooperation in Japan

A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Director General Oren Lavi, is promoting cooperation with Japan in research, innovation and agricultural technology. During the visit, procedures were completed to open the Japanese market to exports of pumpkin, melon and watermelon from Israel. The delegation met with Japan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Yoichi Watanabe, and will visit research institutions, innovation laboratories and the Toyosu Market.

A professional delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, headed by Director General Oren Lavi, is currently promoting cooperation between Israel and Japan in research, innovation, knowledge transfer and agricultural technologies. During the visit, procedures were completed to open the Japanese market to exports of pumpkin, melon and watermelon from Israel. The delegation held a working meeting with Japan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Yoichi Watanabe, in which both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening professional and commercial ties. The visit takes place as part of peer learning between the agricultural ministries of the two countries and includes meetings with senior Japanese officials, research institutes, agrotech companies and government bodies. The delegation will also visit the Agricultural Research Council of Japan (AFFRC), innovation and artificial intelligence laboratories, the plant protection station at Yokohama Port and the Toyosu Market.
