Israeli map includes Lebanese territories; Hezbollah warns of occupation's ambitions

Hezbollah accused Israel of confirming its ambitions in Lebanese territories after its Foreign Ministry published a map including areas of southern Lebanon, considering the step reveals the occupation's intentions. The party called on Lebanese authorities to halt direct negotiations with Israel, convene an emergency session, and file a complaint with the Security Council.

Hezbollah accused the Israeli occupation state of confirming its ambitions in Lebanese territories and the country's wealth, following the occupation's Foreign Ministry publishing a map that includes areas of southern Lebanon within "Israel," considering the step reveals the true intentions of the occupation towards Lebanon. In a statement on Sunday, the party said the map's publication represents "unmistakable confirmation" of the occupation's continued ambitions in Lebanon, its land, wealth, and resources, adding that Israel's entry into direct negotiations with Lebanese authorities is merely an attempt to "buy time and impose new facts on the ground." Hezbollah held the Lebanese authorities "fully responsible" for the continuation of what it described as a path of concessions, urging them to conduct a comprehensive review of their policies, halt direct negotiations with Israel, and act at various official levels to confront what it considers a threat to Lebanese sovereignty. The party demanded an emergency session to address developments and take urgent steps, including filing a complaint with the UN Security Council regarding the Israeli map, criticizing any Lebanese commitments that prevent pursuing Israel in international forums. Hezbollah called on all Lebanese factions to realize the magnitude of risks it said arise from continuing the negotiation and concession path, stressing that national responsibility requires unifying positions and efforts against the Israeli occupation and its ambitions. The party emphasized the need to defend Lebanon's sovereignty and rights over its lands and wealth, warning that Israeli ambitions are not limited to southern Lebanon but target the entire country.
