The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Israeli intelligence warned the United States about an Iranian assassination threat that led the Secret Service to secretly move President Donald Trump off Air Force One and onto a military plane via a catering truck as he prepared to leave Turkey last month. The report, citing an unnamed US official, said Israeli intelligence indicated Iran was plotting to use shoulder-to-air missiles to take down Trump's plane. Senior aides, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, remained on the plane despite the threat. This follows an earlier report last month about a new assassination plot, which Trump denied, saying 'Israel came up with nothing.' The incident occurred after the NATO summit in Ankara, where Trump had flown on a newly renovated Qatari-donated jet. The Washington Post reported Monday that Trump was secretly shuttled to a smaller Air Force C-32A. The threat is set against the ongoing war with Iran, which has publicly pledged to assassinate Trump since the US killed Qassem Soleimani in 2020. Additionally, eight men were indicted last month for a thwarted plot targeting officials linked to Israel, including Trump and Vice President JD Vance.
