Israeli High-Tech Company to Hold Conference Abroad on Election Day

Israeli company Quantum Machines will hold a conference in Chicago on the day of the Knesset elections, which has caused discontent among employees. The company has reduced the number of participants from Israel to a single-digit figure and emphasizes that no one will be forced to go. The conference, AQC, is being held for the third consecutive year and was planned six months in advance, before the election date was known.

Israeli company Quantum Machines will hold a conference in Chicago on the day of the Knesset elections, which has caused discontent among employees who did not want to miss their democratic right. The company stated that no employee will be forced to go, and a single-digit number of Israeli managers and employees will attend the conference, while most speakers are foreign. The conference, AQC (Adaptive Quantum Circuits), is being held for the third consecutive year in late October and centers around 200 participants. The company emphasized that the planning of the conference, including contractual engagements, was done over six months in advance, before the election date was known. After it became clear that the date falls during the conference, it was decided to reduce the number of employees from Israel to the required minimum. The company views the realization of the democratic right as of utmost importance and encourages its employees to exercise their right to vote. Quantum Machines was founded in 2018 by CEO Dr. Itamar Sivan, Dr. Yonatan Cohen (CTO), and Dr. Nissim Ofek (Chief Engineer), and employs 170 people, half of them in Israel. The company develops control technology for quantum computers.
