A global coalition of more than 150 cybersecurity companies, including Anthropic, OpenAI, KPMG, Visa, Oracle, Microsoft, and Palo Alto, has issued a warning that artificial intelligence is rapidly increasing the speed and scale of cyberattacks. The coalition calls on governments and businesses to update their defenses before attackers gain a lasting advantage. The statement says AI systems now allow attackers to identify and exploit vulnerabilities far faster than human defenders can respond, warning that hospitals, water treatment plants, and internet infrastructure are at risk. Israeli experts interviewed by the Jerusalem Post elaborate on the threat. Omer Or, KPMG's head of cybersecurity in Israel, says AI is boosting offensive capabilities for all threat actors, from individual hackers to state actors, and that the pace of producing zero-day vulnerabilities is now 100 times faster than humans can manage alone. Ariel Litmanovich, founder of Aryon Security, notes that AI is not creating exotic new attack types but making existing weaknesses—misconfigurations, excessive permissions, weak authentication—much easier to find and exploit. He argues that defenders must integrate AI into their operations to keep pace, as humans cannot win against AI-driven attacks.
