Brigadier General (res.) Oren Solomon called on Israel to set clear boundaries for Turkey in Syria and to carry out direct strikes on Turkish military infrastructure, including air defense systems, if it continues to strengthen its positions. Brigadier General (res.) Oren Solomon called on Israel to carry out direct strikes on Turkish military infrastructure in Syria if Ankara continues to strengthen its positions. In an interview with C14, Solomon stated that the IDF's actions in Syria increasingly resemble a return to the "campaign between wars" tactic. He focused particularly on the possible deployment of Turkish air defense systems on Syrian territory, calling them a direct target for strikes. Solomon urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to formulate a clearer position in advance regarding Ankara's actions. The statement came amid growing disagreements over the Turkish military presence. Israel has previously defined the establishment of Turkish bases and the advance of Ankara's forces into southern Syria as an unacceptable scenario. Solomon also criticized the position of U.S. special envoy Tom Barak, linking his approach to his own interests.
