Israel's women's 4x100 medley relay team breaks national record

Israel's women's 4x100 medley relay team set a new Israeli record at the European Championships in Paris, clocking 4:02.19 minutes. The quartet of Tom Minis, Anastasia Gorbenko, Lea Polonsky, and Daria Golovaty improved the previous mark by 0.24 seconds. The team finished tenth overall and did not advance to the final.

Israel's women's 4x100 medley relay team set a new Israeli record on Sunday at the European Championships in Paris, France. The quartet, consisting of Tom Minis (Maccabi Haifa), Anastasia Gorbenko (Maccabi Kiryat Bialik), Lea Polonsky (Maccabi Haifa), and Daria Golovaty (Hapoel Bat Yam), stopped the clock at 4:02.19 minutes in the preliminary heats. The previous record was set in Singapore last year, and the team improved it by 0.24 seconds. However, the team finished tenth overall and did not advance to the final. Minis opened the relay with the 100m backstroke and set a new personal best of 1:00.48 minutes. For her, this is another achievement at the current championships, where she has already broken her personal best in the 100m backstroke twice and met the Israeli criterion for the 2027 World Championships. Earlier in the morning, Golovaty finished 14th in the 400m freestyle heats with a time of 4:14.81, and Yoav Romano (Maccabi Shoham) finished 27th in the same event with a time of 3:52.43. The men's 4x100 medley relay team, consisting of Tomer Shuster, Mark Taler, Daniel Krichevsky, and Alexey Glivinsky, finished 16th with a time of 3:36.57.
