Israel Prepares for War with Turkey via US - Assessment

Israel has asked the US to grant it freedom of action to conduct military operations in Syria, including strikes on targets linked to Turkey, according to Channel 12. However, Washington did not support the initiative and opposed expanding Israeli actions. Earlier, former head of Israel's National Security Council Meir Ben-Shabbat warned that Turkey's strengthening position in the Middle East could lead to direct confrontation with Israel. After the fall of Bashar al-Assad and the weakening of Iranian presence, Ankara expanded its influence in Syria, participating in the formation of the new Syrian army and strengthening its position through energy and transport projects. There is also discussion of possibly sending a Turkish contingent to southern Lebanon, which would bring Turkish troops closer to Israel's border. The transfer of Hezbollah's heavy weapons to Iran is being discussed. Israel is considering purchasing Boeing P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft from the US to control the eastern Mediterranean.
