Shai Alon writes that Britain and France, which for generations ruled colonies and decided the fate of other peoples, now seek to tell Jews where they are allowed to build in their own land. He notes that Britain still holds 14 overseas territories, including the Falkland Islands and Gibraltar, and France holds territories far from Europe's borders. According to him, Judea and Samaria are not an overseas colony but the heart of our ancestors' land. He argues that London, Paris, and the countries that joined them are returning to a patronizing attitude, at a time when Europe itself is facing a sharp rise in antisemitism and Islamist extremism. Alon calls for accelerating construction in Judea and Samaria, expanding settlements, moving toward applying sovereignty, and above all - canceling the Oslo Accords. He quotes Gideon Sa'ar who laid down the principle: action against Israel is met with Israeli action.
