Israel blows up and shells towns in southern Lebanon, moves tanks toward Hadata

The Israeli occupation army continued on Friday its demolition and shelling operations in southern Lebanon, alongside the advance of tanks and artillery and machine-gun fire, in ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement. Warplanes targeted the Masha' al-Mansuri area, and occupation forces carried out sweeping operations with machine guns on the outskirts of Majdal Zoun and al-Mansuri. The towns of Beit Yahoun, Hadata, and Kounine witnessed a series of extensive explosions, with continuous flights of warplanes and drones. Tanks were also seen moving toward Hadata, and a drone dropped a sound bomb on a house in Kafra without injuries. In the western Bekaa, a fire broke out in the forests between Machghara and Ain al-Tineh, with information circulating about a possible Israeli drone causing it, without confirmation.

Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes targeted the Masha' al-Mansuri area, coinciding with a large demolition and the dropping of explosive gallons, while occupation forces carried out sweeping operations with machine guns on the outskirts of Majdal Zoun and al-Mansuri and the surrounding valleys. The towns of Beit Yahoun, Hadata, and Kounine in the Bint Jbeil district witnessed a series of extensive explosions whose echoes were heard in coastal villages, alongside continuous flights of Israeli warplanes and drones in the area's skies. Movements of Israeli military vehicles and the advance of tanks toward the town of Hadata were also observed, alongside machine-gun sweeping toward the town and the fall of an artillery shell in the area. In the town of Kafra, an Israeli drone dropped a sound bomb on an inhabited house, without recording injuries, according to the Lebanese agency. In the western Bekaa, a large fire broke out in the forests between the towns of Machghara and Ain al-Tineh, and its causes were not definitively known. The agency indicated that information circulated about a possible Israeli drone causing it, without confirmation. These assaults come amid continued Israeli violations since Lebanon and Israel signed, in Washington on June 26, a "framework agreement" stipulating a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. However, Israeli occupation army minister Israel Katz announced on Thursday that Israel will not withdraw from Lebanon unless Hezbollah's weapons are removed and what he described as the "danger" it poses throughout the country is eliminated. Katz said, during a ceremony to re-establish the "Ganim" settlement in the northern occupied West Bank, that the occupation army currently controls about 700 square kilometers of Lebanese territory, confirming that forces will remain in what Israel calls the "security zone" until its conditions are met. Katz's statements came a day after an American position considered that a permanent Israeli military presence in southern Lebanon contradicts the commitments in the framework agreement and does not serve long-term peace and stability. Israel has continued its aggression against Lebanon since March 2, resulting, according to Lebanese authorities, in the martyrdom of 4,335 people and the injury of 12,277 others, in addition to the displacement of more than one million people.
