Islamic Jihad mourns martyrs of Abu Sharia and Al-Hasaena massacre

The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine mourned the martyrs of the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasaena clans, whose bodies were buried today, Tuesday, in Gaza City, describing the massacre in which they were killed as one of the "most heinous crimes" committed by the Israeli occupation against civilians during its war on the Gaza Strip. In a press statement, the movement said the martyrs were killed in a massacre carried out by the occupation in November 2023, and their bodies remained under the rubble until late July and early August 2026, due to the occupation forces preventing civil defense crews and emergency committees from reaching the site and recovering the victims, amid the siege and repeated threats. It added that the ability of civil defense crews, with their limited capabilities, to recover the bodies and bury them in a solemn funeral represents "living testimony to the genocide and crimes of mass murder" suffered by Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, considering that what happened constitutes a condemnation of the occupation and the failure of international justice to hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable. The movement affirmed that the continuation of the aggression and killing "will not break the steadfastness of the Palestinian people nor diminish their determination and insistence on continuing the path of liberation," offering condolences to the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasaena clans and to the entire Palestinian people. Earlier today, Gaza City witnessed the burial of 112 martyrs from the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasaena families, after their bodies were recovered from under the rubble of a house in the Sabra neighborhood, which was targeted by an Israeli airstrike on November 22, 2023, in one of the largest massacres the Strip has seen during the war.
