Is Iran Capable of Attacking Ukraine with Ballistic Missiles? — Assessment

Analysts from Defense Express assessed the potential of Iran's missile arsenal for strikes on Ukraine. Iran is theoretically capable of launching medium-range ballistic missiles, including the Khorramshahr with a range of up to 4,000 km. However, actual missile stockpiles have significantly decreased due to launches against Israel and strikes by the US and Israel on Iranian facilities.

Analysts from Defense Express assessed whether Iran is capable of attacking Ukraine with ballistic missiles from its territory. Within range are the Ghadr, Emad, and Sejjil missiles with a range of about 2,000 km. The greatest threat is posed by the Khorramshahr with a range of up to 4,000 km, capable of carrying a cluster warhead. However, experts note that actual stockpiles of Iranian medium-range missiles have significantly decreased due to massive launches against Israel and preemptive strikes by the US and Israel on warehouses and production facilities. Effective missile defense is possible only with top-tier systems such as THAAD or Arrow.
