IRGC Spokesman: If Britain Aids the US, It Will Become a Legitimate Target
The spokesman for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened that Britain would become a "legitimate target" if it supports the US in the war. The threat comes amid British assistance to American bomber aircraft in recent strikes. About a week ago, Iran also warned Bulgaria against military cooperation with the US.
The spokesman for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) escalated threats today (Saturday) and declared that Britain would become a "legitimate target" if it supports the United States in the war, according to Reuters. He stated that any country, including Britain and Gulf states, that assists the American military in its strikes against Iran would be considered a "legitimate target." He further claimed that Britain had assisted American bomber aircraft in recent strikes. Just about a week ago, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei warned Bulgaria against allowing the US to use its territory for military operations against Iran. The Bulgarian government announced it would seek parliamentary approval to station up to eight American refueling aircraft at an air force base in the country, a NATO and EU member. Baghaei said any activity that aids American strikes against Iran would constitute complicity in "aggression and war crimes," and called on Bulgaria not to become an "accomplice to criminals."
