Iranian threat with 'revenge target map' against Ukraine - and the attempt to prevent an explosion: 'Pay compensation'

The meeting between Netanyahu and Zelensky in Washington, the first in 3 years, comes against the backdrop of Iranian threats to retaliate for the Ukrainian attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea. Foreign Minister Sa'ar spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart Sybiha about the shared Iranian threat, while Sybiha also spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, who demanded compensation.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met this evening in Washington at the memorial service for Senator Lindsey Graham, their first meeting in 3 years. The last meeting was in September 2023 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, a month before the Hamas attack. Since then, there has been a rift and tension between the two. The meeting comes against the backdrop of Iranian threats to retaliate for the Ukrainian attack over the weekend on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, in which one Iranian sailor was killed. Ukraine claims the ship was carrying components for drones and missiles transferred to Russia. Earlier, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha about the shared Iranian threat. This evening, Sybiha also spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who demanded compensation for the attack and claimed that Ukraine clarified the attack was not intentional. Sybiha, for his part, called for an end to Iranian support for Russia.
