This diplomatic development comes after the second consecutive night without US strikes on Iran, following nearly two weeks of sustained US military operations. For 13 days, President Trump approved daily strike plans, but on Friday he declined to authorize a new plan and instructed the military to hold fire. Trump later told reporters that while he retains the option to escalate, the 'smarter strategy' is to reach an agreement, adding that Iran is 'getting more and more serious' about talks.
