He argues that the Iranian regime is hardening its positions, appointing "super dogmatic" people to senior positions. According to him, the economic blows do not make the regime more flexible, as its greatest enemy is the Iranian people and the fear of popular uprising. Rabi adds that the Revolutionary Guards actually run the state, using the facade of the Supreme Leader, and that Mojtaba is wounded and limited. Regarding the Gulf states, he says they are at a loss and question the American umbrella and the worth of American bases on their territory. Rabi expresses support for applying economic pressure on Iran but doubts the West's ability to persist, noting US Treasury Secretary Bessent as someone talking about unprecedented steps.
