Regarding the agreement to open the Strait of Hormuz, Pezeshkian clarified that Khamenei has received the professional opinion on the understandings, and said that if three-quarters support it, he will accept it. A senior political source claimed last week that within the Tehran administration, arguments are taking place between elements fearing economic collapse and the hardline faction. Regarding Khamenei's condition, the source noted: "He is alive, but it is difficult to assess whether he is the one actually making the decisions. Apart from blocking the Strait of Hormuz, the regime has very few cards left. The economic damage directly affects the supply of basic goods, but it is doubtful whether it will bring him down by itself."
