In an interview, senior Iranian official Rezaei claims that Donald Trump planned a large-scale ground operation in Iran, but the plan was canceled due to erroneous assessments by the American military. According to him, Trump ordered the CENTCOM commander to intensify strikes, but the commanders said that the air capability and missile launches could not be increased. Rezaei noted that the Americans imagined they could capture the Strait of Hormuz with only 40,000 to 50,000 troops. He explained Israel's absence from the campaign by saying that IDF forces are tied up in Gaza, southern Lebanon, and the West Bank, and that Trump wanted to claim the operation solely for himself. Rezaei also warned Ukraine, which attacked an Iranian ship, that Kyiv would have to compensate Tehran, and concluded with a warning that attempts to control the Strait of Hormuz could ignite a third world war. He called on the Iranian public to mobilize to strengthen the local economy and break dependence on oil.
