After Trump announced the cancellation of the strike on Iran, local media published a 3-minute video attempting to answer why an audio recording of the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was not released. The video was posted on the Telegram channel of the Iranian newspaper 'Hamshahri', an official outlet of the Tehran municipality, following a senior political source's statement that Ali Khamenei's son survived. The video explained that every audio file has hidden layers from which intelligence agencies can extract the physical, geographical, temporal, technological, and biological dimensions of the speaker. According to the newspaper, these are five main reasons Tehran believes could be used to locate the Supreme Leader – reasons that may sound particularly paranoid. The reasons include: environmental acoustics and room architecture, power grid frequency analysis, spectral analysis of device fingerprint, background noise, and acoustic biometrics. The program host concluded the video by saying that just as Mossad agents knew how to leak confidential details to the 'New York Times', they will succeed in locating Mojtaba based on a recording, and for this reason his voice was not published.
