According to the source, the agreement creates a basis for possible resumption of traffic through the strategically important strait, but there are no specific deadlines for its opening yet. Tehran views this agreement as a step toward strengthening Iranian sovereignty over the strait. At the same time, the final decision on resuming its operation, it is claimed, will be directly linked to the United States meeting Iran's demands.
