Iran attack hits American fighter jets at base in Jordan

CBS News reported that Iranian attacks targeted a US air base in Jordan, resulting in damage to approximately 8 American F-15 fighter jets, along with severe damage to an A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft, including the loss of one of its wings, with no US troop casualties. US forces launched over 30 Patriot system missiles to counter the attacks, amid growing concerns within the US administration over the depletion of these missile stocks. The attacks came after the US announced on Tuesday it had targeted five Iranian tankers, following Iran's targeting of a US warship. Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced it had attacked eight tankers and two warships, in addition to the US military base in Jordan. The region has seen continuous escalation since the US resumed strikes on Iran. Jordanian authorities had announced the kingdom was subjected to Iranian ballistic missile attacks, confirming that its air defenses intercepted most of them.
