Vehicle theft rates in Israel have been rising in recent years, alongside increases in car insurance premiums. In the first half of 2026, thousands of theft cases were reported, and according to police data provided to the Freedom of Information Movement, some vehicles are more prone to theft. Topping the list is the Hyundai Ioniq, with one in every 30 such cars stolen. In second place is the Ora 03, stolen at a rate of one in 46. Following are the SERES 03 crossover, Kia Picanto, and Kia Sorento. Further down the list: Jeep Wrangler, Hyundai Sonata, and Hyundai Elantra, with the Kia Seltos closing the list. The practical implication: customers purchasing these models can expect higher insurance premiums.
