Instead of backing: Our soldiers in Judea and Samaria repelled terrorists – and were detained for investigation

In both cases, instead of receiving backing, the soldiers were taken for investigation. Within 48 hours, two incidents occurred in Judea and Samaria where IDF soldiers responded with fire against Palestinian terrorists who endangered them and the civilians they were protecting. The first incident took place on Saturday near the settlement of Malakhei Shalom in Binyamin, where terrorists from Beit Rima and Al-Mughayyir attacked Jewish youths with stones. A soldier on leave responded with a single shot to repel the attackers. Despite no casualties, the police arrested him and the IDF suspended him. The second incident occurred in the Menashe sector near the village of Faqu'a, where terrorists gathered around a Jewish youth herding sheep. An IDF force that was dispatched was attacked, fired into the air, and then fired accurately at lower limbs, wounding a terrorist. In the IDF Spokesperson's statement, full backing was avoided, and it was stated that the reason for the fire is still under investigation. Settlement officials are furious that soldiers find themselves under investigation instead of receiving support against the enemy.
