Inspection of 323 facilities and crushing of 1.44 kg of unstamped gold in Gaza

The Gaza Directorate of Gold and Precious Metals announced the execution of 323 inspection visits to gold shops during August, resulting in the crushing of 1,441.7 grams of unstamped jewelry, as part of efforts to regulate the market and protect consumers.

The Directorate of Gold and Precious Metals, affiliated with the Ministry of National Economy in Gaza, announced the execution of 323 regulatory and inspection visits to gold shops, stalls, and factories across various governorates of the Strip during the past month of August. The directorate explained that inspection teams carried out 25 inspection rounds, including 5 rounds in Gaza Governorate targeting 57 shops, 14 rounds in Khan Younis Governorate covering 183 shops, stalls, and factories, and 6 rounds in the Central Governorate targeting 83 shops. The rounds resulted in the crushing of 1,441.7 grams of unstamped gold jewelry, in accordance with legal procedures. The directorate affirmed the continuation of regulatory efforts to organize the market and verify traders' compliance with regulations, contributing to the protection of consumer rights.
