Indictment: Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva Attacked Two Gas Station Workers Over Arabic Music

The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against Shimon Tovul, Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva, for attacking two gas station workers in Kfar Aza in September 2024. According to the indictment, Tovul attacked a worker who was playing Arabic music, struck him in the face, pushed him, and brandished his weapon. He later pushed another worker. Tovul is charged with two counts of assault.

The State Prosecutor's Office today (Tuesday) filed an indictment with the Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court against Shimon Tovul, Deputy Mayor of Be'er Sheva, charging him with assaulting two gas station workers in Kfar Aza during reserve duty in September 2024. According to the indictment, Tovul arrived at the gas station as part of his reserve service. A gas station worker parked his car while playing Arabic music and entered the convenience store. After someone at the station complained to Tovul about the music, Tovul entered the store, demanded the worker turn off the music, and when the worker responded, shouted at him, grabbed him by the back of the neck, struck him in the face, pushed him toward his car, and brandished his weapon. Subsequently, another worker who approached to ask what happened was pushed by Tovul in the chin and throat area while brandishing his weapon, until a soldier separated them. The indictment charges Tovul with two counts of assault.
