In the presence of Maj. Gen. Blot: IDF evacuates Israeli outpost in Qusra, dozens of Israelis block roads in the area
The IDF evacuated this morning an Israeli outpost established near the Palestinian village of Qusra in Area B, in the presence of the commander of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Blot. After the evacuation, dozens of Israelis began blocking roads in the area. The outpost was established several weeks ago, and friction developed there. The IDF Spokesperson declared the area a closed military zone. The IDF stated that they condemn the events and that those involved will be dealt with disciplinarily.
The IDF evacuated this morning (Wednesday) an Israeli outpost established near the Palestinian village of Qusra in Area B, in the presence of the commander of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Blot. After the evacuation, dozens of Israelis began blocking roads in the area. The outpost was established several weeks ago in proximity to the village, and friction events developed between the sides. At the height of the events, left-wing activists arrived to assist the Palestinians and were removed by the police. The IDF Spokesperson announced last night the imposition of a closed military zone in the area, prohibiting entry to non-residents, against the backdrop of reports of Israeli citizens entering Palestinian homes and lands in the villages of Qusra and Jalud, taking control of them. During the events, security forces broke through a gate that Israeli citizens had placed in the area and acted to enforce the closure of the military zone. The IDF stated: "We strongly condemn such events... If it is found that reservists or regular forces in the IDF are involved in these events, they will be dealt with disciplinarily." Additionally, on Monday an incident occurred in which extreme left-wing activists entered the place inside an ambulance, and a violent incident developed.
