In an opinion column in Maariv, Shir-Li Golan argues that 31 years after the assassination of Rabin, it is enough to be a journalist who dares to do his job faithfully and present facts as they are to become a victim of violent incitement, persecuted on the street and threatened with death. She refers to a threatening letter left at the News 12 studio, in which the threatener demanded an apology for the exposure of the Shdeh Teiman affair, which according to the indictment included exceptional abuse of a terrorist. The indictment was canceled and the defendants were released, partly due to the release of the detainee. Golan writes that in the prevailing atmosphere, the blood of anyone who does not align with the government is permissible, and links this to the assassination of Rabin, quoting the center-left camp that said that after the assassination hope died, and adding that if it did not die then, it is in death throes today.
