The affair came to light after the hospital received an inquiry from a patient living abroad, who turned out to be a victim of the scam. External parties used the name of the medical institution and the identities of staff members, promised medical treatments, and fraudulently collected money from the patient. At this stage, no details have been released about the identity of the suspects, the amount collected, the promised treatment, or the country where the patient resides. The hospital stated: "We trust the Israel Police to exhaust the investigation to its conclusion."
