IDF prepares for "October 7 of Eilat": This is what the nightmare scenario looks like

The IDF conducted a multi-branch joint exercise in the Eilat and Arava region, in cooperation with the police, the counter-terrorism unit, and additional security forces. The forces practiced a scenario of a combined attack on Israel, similar to the events of October 7, with an emphasis on a maritime infiltration, takeover of hotels, and hostage-taking.

The IDF conducted a multi-branch joint exercise in the Eilat and Arava region, in cooperation with the police, the counter-terrorism unit (LOTAR Eilat), and additional security forces. The exercise simulated a scenario of a combined attack on Israel, similar to the events of October 7, with an emphasis on a maritime infiltration to the beach, takeover of hotels, and the capture of dozens of guests as hostages, including foreign civilians. The forces included ground, sea, and air units, as well as defense squads in communities and military security coordinators. The exercise commanders emphasized the importance of multi-organizational cooperation and the lessons learned from the events of October 7, including the infiltration at Zikim Beach. The exercise also included practicing communication between the various command centers and casualty evacuation by helicopters.
