Security officials said the sharp increase in the number of outposts and farms in Judea and Samaria has led in recent weeks to daily clashes between Jews and Palestinians, diverting attention from counterterrorism. According to them, the recent series of events could ignite the area. Over the weekend, IDF, Border Police, and Shin Bet forces arrested about 70 wanted Palestinians in Samaria, the Jenin area, and Binyamin, while large forces were deployed on traffic routes and inside Palestinian villages for fear of nationalist crime and price tag incidents. A curfew was imposed on the city of Nablus. In the last two days, five new outposts were established near the village of Tel, where an attack occurred yesterday. Four of them are in Area C and one in Area B. The security establishment has decided for now not to evacuate the outposts until further notice.
