IDF opens tourist routes for the holidays

The IDF has decided to open tourist routes for Israelis and tourists during the autumn holidays. Starting Friday, September 11, Route 10 in the area of the Paran Division near the western border will be partially accessible. During Rosh Hashanah on September 11, the section between Azuz and Har Harif will be open from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. On September 12 and 13, passage will be allowed in the area of Mitzpor Bar-Lev up to checkpoint 10/12 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. For Sukkot, the section between Azuz and Har Harif will open on September 25 from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. From September 26 to October 3, tourists can use the road in the area of Mitzpor Bar-Lev up to checkpoint 10/12 from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The IDF statement notes that training exercises at firing ranges will continue, so the southern ranges will remain closed. An ID card and registration at the entrance are required; prior coordination is not needed. Previously, the IDF opened a section of the border with Jordan as part of the "Dead Sea Pioneers" event.
