Washington issued security warnings to its citizens in the region twice. The Iranians are escalating their rhetoric. In Israel, there is silence, and the IDF is raising alertness in defense; meanwhile, there is no change in Home Front Command instructions, Ben Gurion Airport operates as usual, and no one knows if Trump is indeed heading for escalation - or perhaps improving his negotiating position. Last night, CBS reported that the US and Israel are planning one of the most significant bombing operations so far against Iran, which would allegedly take place today or tomorrow, targeting Iran's infrastructure and energy facilities. However, CBS reported this evening, citing an unnamed Israeli official, that "Israel is not aware of a decision to renew the military operation in full, nor has a request been received in Israel to join military actions against Iran." The Iranians threaten a harsh response. Negotiating team member Seyed Mohammad Marandi wrote on X: "Based on the Trump administration's statements, it seems very likely, after months of threats, that tonight will be the last night of normal life in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, and perhaps also Oman." Ibrahim Rezaei, a member of the Iranian parliament's National Security Committee, threatened: "The response to a possible enemy attack will not be limited to the Persian Gulf. We will respond to all enemy bases and against the source of attacks from anywhere." In Israel, there is high alert across all systems, with the understanding that if Trump authorizes striking infrastructure in Iran, Tehran may attack Israel. Senior Israeli officials emphasized that if Iran makes a mistake and launches missiles at Israel, "it will pay a very heavy price."
