IDF Intel. Chief Shlomi Binder's crusade to block Iran from getting nukes - exclusive

IDF Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder has led an unprecedented campaign to block Iran's nuclear weapons program, directing the bombing of Natanz and Isfahan, providing intelligence for US strikes on Fordow, and overseeing the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. While Iran currently has no centrifuges enriching uranium and most facilities are destroyed, concerns remain about surviving centrifuges and clandestine uranium extraction.

IDF Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder has pursued an unprecedented campaign to block Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons since taking office in August 2024. Binder ordered and managed the bombing of Natanz, Isfahan, and dozens of other sites, and provided critical intelligence used by the US to bomb Fordow in June 2025. He also directed the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the dismantling of Iran's ballistic missile apparatus. Israel struck Iran approximately 4,000 times in June 2025 and around 18,000 times in 2026, with intelligence for over 90% of those strikes coming from Binder's teams. The Jerusalem Post has learned that Iran currently has no centrifuges enriching uranium, most enriched uranium is not easily accessible, and most nuclear facilities were destroyed. However, a not insignificant number of centrifuges survived deep underground, and multiple sources expressed concern that even a few hundred advanced IR-6 centrifuges could eventually enable weaponization. Iran has been adding structures to block satellite coverage and digging in various areas, potentially to extract enriched uranium from rubble. Binder's focus has shifted to preventing Iran from rebuilding weapons group facilities for converting enriched uranium into warhead components, where Tehran has made no serious progress. The Pickaxe Mountain facility remains non-operational, contradicting reports that Iran moved centrifuges there.
