IDF Identifies the Potential - Opens New Haredi Track in Military Intelligence

For the first time since its establishment, the 'Atidim' administration is expanding to additional populations, with an emphasis on the Haredi community, and has opened a dedicated study track. Under the 'Pa'amei Atidim' program, dozens of Haredi students and students from other minority populations will study for a practical engineering degree before enlistment at the Ariel College of Engineering and Ariel University, and upon completion will integrate into the elite technological units of the IDF Intelligence Directorate and complete a full academic degree in engineering during their military service.

For the first time since its establishment, the 'Atidim' administration is expanding to additional populations, with an emphasis on the Haredi community, and has opened a dedicated study track. The administration is a military body operating in civilian-security cooperation, with the main goal of locating, screening, directing, and accompanying candidates for security service and students from the periphery and special populations in academic and technological tracks in the IDF. Under the 'Pa'amei Atidim' program, dozens of Haredi students and students from other minority populations will study for a practical engineering degree before enlistment at the Ariel College of Engineering and Ariel University, and upon completion will integrate into the elite technological units of the IDF Intelligence Directorate and complete a full academic degree in engineering during their military service. According to an official and authorized military source, "This is a step that opens a world that was until now almost closed to the Haredi public, while integrating higher education in engineering and technology, in a dedicated and adapted format. Afterwards, they will integrate into core technological units in the Intelligence Directorate and throughout the IDF." The opening ceremony was held with the participation of the CEO of the College of Engineering at Ariel University, Dr. Yocheved Pinchasi-Adib, the head of the Atidim administration in the IDF, Lt. Col. Peleg, and the Haredi branch head in the administration. The head of the Atidim administration in the IDF, Lt. Col. Peleg, said yesterday (Sunday): "Today we mark the opening of the new track. First of all, this is your moment, starting a new path today; this is also a great opportunity for everyone to integrate into the technological work of the IDF." According to him, "The Intelligence Directorate and the technological units need talented people from all parts of Israeli society. This track allows you to enter the world of engineering, and to combine studies, meaningful service at the core of technological work, and adaptation to your way of life." Lt. Col. Peleg added that "Intelligence and technological work relies on people who think differently, come from different backgrounds, and bring diverse perspectives. The more we succeed in enlisting quality people from the broad mosaic of Israeli society, we also strengthen our professional capabilities.
