IDF: Hamas terrorist who murdered the husband of Limor Son Har-Melech eliminated | Documentation

The IDF, Shin Bet, and Lahav 433 unit eliminated yesterday in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip Farah Hamed, a Hamas terrorist responsible for attacks in which Israelis were murdered, including Shalom Har-Melech, the husband of Limor Son Har-Melech.

In a joint operation by the Shin Bet, IDF, and the Gideonim 33 Lahav 433 unit, Farah Hamed, a terrorist from the military wing of Hamas, was eliminated yesterday (Wednesday) in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip area. Hamed previously served as a senior figure in the 'West Bank Headquarters' infrastructure and took part in fighting against IDF forces during the war. In his roles, he promoted terrorist schemes in Judea and Samaria and was part of the 'Silwad' cell. He carried out several significant attacks in the Binyamin area in which Israeli civilians were murdered and others were wounded. Among the attacks: the shooting near the Rimmonim junction in November 2002 in which Esther Galia Atiya was murdered; the shooting on Highway 60 in June 2003 in which Zvi (Howard) Goldstein was murdered; the shooting on the Allon Road in August 2003 in which Shalom Har-Melech was murdered; and the shooting in Ein Yabrud in October 2003 in which three IDF soldiers fell. Hamed was arrested and released in 2011 as part of the 'Shalit deal' to the Gaza Strip, and since then continued to belong to the military wing of Hamas and engaged in recruitment and guidance to promote attacks. The IDF stated that before the strike, steps were taken to minimize the chance of harming civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance.
