The IDF destroyed Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon this evening, using over 1,100 tons of explosives. Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz stated that the destruction completes the achievement of operational control over the ridge. Forces destroyed eight underground routes totaling more than 5,400 meters in length, and located many weapons including drones, anti-tank missiles, and rockets.
The IDF destroyed Hezbollah's underground infrastructure on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon this evening (Thursday), using over 1,100 tons of explosives. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement that the destruction completes the achievement of operational control over the ridge, above and below ground. According to them, this is a strategic terrorist infrastructure built over two decades with Iranian funding and planning, intended to serve as a base for conquering the Galilee and controlled observation and fire on Metula and Kiryat Shmona. Forces of Division 36, the Commando Brigade, and the Yahalom unit increased military pressure in recent months on the terrorists who were in the infrastructure. Some terrorists abandoned the area and some were eliminated. The ridge had eight underground routes totaling more than 5,400 meters in length. Many weapons were located in the area, including dozens of explosive drones, UAVs, machine guns, anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mines, and RPG rockets. The IDF completed the destruction of most of the routes so that they are no longer usable.
