IDF Atidim launches first dedicated engineering track for haredi, minority students

The IDF's Atidim Directorate has opened its first dedicated engineering track for haredi and minority students. Under the Pa'amei Atidim program, dozens of students will study for a practical engineering diploma at Ariel University before enlistment, then join leading Military Intelligence technology units and complete a full engineering degree during service. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Yochaved Pinhasi-Adi and Lt.-Col. Peleg, who emphasized the need for diverse talent in the IDF's technological units.

Under the Pa'amei Atidim program, dozens of haredi and minority students will study toward a practical engineering diploma at Ariel University's Practical Engineering College before their enlistment. Upon completion, they will join leading technological units in the IDF Military Intelligence Directorate and complete a full academic degree in engineering during their military service. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Yochaved Pinhasi-Adi, CEO of the Practical Engineering College, and Lt.-Col. Peleg, head of the Atidim Directorate. Lt.-Col. Peleg highlighted the importance of integrating talented people from diverse backgrounds into the IDF's technological units, stating that this track provides an entry point into engineering while accommodating the students' way of life. The program aims to strengthen the IDF's professional capabilities by bringing in high-quality individuals from the broad mosaic of Israeli society.
