Ichilov Medical Center and the Lema'anchem organization have signed an agreement to establish a free center for early intervention in mental trauma, which will expand the activities of Ichilov's 'Asif' trauma treatment center. The center will provide professional mental health treatment at no cost to reserve soldiers, security forces personnel, and their families, including the 'invisible wounded' – family members who bear the burden of coping and sometimes do not receive a response. The agreement was signed against the backdrop of the October 7 events and the Swords of Iron war, which led to a sharp increase in the number of people coping with trauma and post-trauma. Since October 7, about 26,000 war casualties have been added, about 65% of them coping with mental distress. The center will operate at Lema'anchem's offices and will be managed by the professional team of the Asif center, under the management of Dr. Roy On and psychologist Rachel Pant. Treatments will be provided by clinical psychologists and clinical social workers, alongside a professional triage system. Patients requiring complex treatment will be referred for continued treatment at Ichilov. The signing ceremony was attended by Ichilov CEO Prof. Eli Sprecher, Lema'anchem chairman Yossi Arablich, and the head of the IDF's mental health services array, Col. Dr. Yaakov Rothschild.
