Doron Natanel Has, who lost his only son Liam, aged 6, about two years ago, is seeking assistance to fund the training of his service dog, Luna, estimated to cost around 50,000 shekels. Liam was murdered in July 2024 in the family's apartment in Herzliya by his mother, Sigal Yana Itskovich, who was acquitted of murder due to a psychotic episode and was committed to psychiatric hospitalization for 25 years. Doron suffers from post-trauma and is recognized by the National Insurance Institute with 100% loss of work capacity. He meets the criteria for assistance from a service dog, but is not eligible for funding because his condition is not the result of a security-related incident. In the coming days, he will have to leave his home in Tel Aviv. He has launched a crowdfunding project to commemorate his son and fund the training.
