Thanks to traffic congestion and slow driving, passersby noticed her protruding leg and alerted the driver, who stopped and opened the door. The soldier was rescued, suffering from pain and injuries to her leg and head, and was evacuated by ambulance to Poriya Hospital. She described the experience as "the hardest and scariest thing that could be" and noted she is in a state of anxiety. In Egged's response, it was stated that the driver did not notice her entering the luggage compartment and was sure she had gotten off the bus, and that this was an incident caused in good faith. The company expressed regret and wished her a speedy recovery.
