“I’m not yet 14”: Former Border Police officer indicted for offering money to a minor for sexual encounter

According to the indictment, the defendant corresponded with the minor on Instagram, offered him sexual encounters for money, and requested photos, even after the minor stated his exact age and date of birth. It was also alleged that he tried to obtain details of another minor.

According to the indictment, the two corresponded on Instagram, and during the conversation the defendant repeatedly offered the minor to meet him for the purpose of sexual relations, while promising financial compensation in some of the offers. Additionally, the defendant asked the minor to send him photos. The defendant continued his offers even after the minor explicitly clarified that he was not yet 14, and even provided his date of birth. It was further alleged that the defendant tried to obtain from the minor details of another minor for a sexual encounter. The indictment was filed by Mahash, the Police Internal Investigations Department in the Ministry of Justice, which deals with investigating offenses committed by police officers.
