‘I’m in love with him’: Prison officer suspected of aiding brother of murder suspect

A 34-year-old prison officer is suspected of helping the brother of the main suspect in the murder of Binyahu Razi make phone contact with his brother while he was on the run. She had a romantic relationship with the inmate, admitted this in interrogation, and denied helping with the escape. She was released under restrictive conditions.

A 34-year-old prison officer from the central region is suspected of breach of trust and obstruction of justice after conducting a romantic relationship with an inmate at Hadarim Prison, the brother of Avior Sasson (17), the main suspect in the murder of Binyahu Razi in the Nahlaot neighborhood of Jerusalem. According to the suspicion, she allowed the inmate to make phone contact with his brother while he was on the run. In her interrogation, the officer admitted that she fell in love with the inmate, kissed him many times in her office, was in contact with his family members, and even considered leaving the prison service to be with him. She denied helping Avior continue his escape and claimed she did not know where he was hiding. The officer was released under restrictive conditions and placed on forced leave. Her lawyer, Dror Shalom, said that the case is not yet closed and that his client fully cooperated.
