The State Prosecutor's Office today (Sunday) filed an indictment with the Be'er Sheva District Court against brothers Yosef Al-Bahiri (22) and Hassan Al-Bahiri (26), residents of Rahat, for an incident of shooting and threats against their family members. According to the indictment, about a month ago, in the evening hours, two of the family members were standing near their home, opposite the brothers' house. Yosef went up to the roof of his house carrying an assault rifle and fired a large number of bullets at his relatives and the road, while shouting 'I'll kill you'. The relatives hid behind a vehicle and fled to their home's yard. Damage was caused to one of the complainants' vehicle, in which 21 bullet impacts were found. Meanwhile, Hassan arrived at the back of the house holding an object resembling a gun, aimed it at his relatives and threatened: 'Stop or I'll shoot you', and later 'If you come closer, I'll shoot'. The prosecution requested an order for their detention until the end of proceedings. Attorney Itai Bitan noted the high danger posed by gun holders, especially at a time when the use of firearms has become a national plague. Yosef is charged with attempted aggravated assault, carrying a weapon, firing from a firearm, and malicious damage; Hassan is charged with threats. The incident was investigated by the Rahat police station.
