In his initial interrogation, he claimed he came to the office over a debt of 15,000 shekels, compensation money from a car accident that was owed to him. "I've been chasing him for three years to get the money, and he ignored me," he said. "I took out the gun, which had five bullets, and shot him." According to suspicion, after the shooting he fled to the fields between Ashdod and Ashkelon and discarded the gun. His lawyer, Oren Sasson, said his client now denies the allegations: "This is not the scenario of a murderer. A person arrives at the office calmly, apparently." The partner heard shouts and "small explosions" and then saw the lawyer lying on the floor. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM, with at least four shots heard.
