Humiliation for Putin: Ukrainian Forces Take Control of the Route Between Crimea and Russia

Ukraine's Defense Forces announced they have established fire control over key supply routes linking occupied Crimea to Russian territory. This is reported in an Institute for the Study of War (ISW) report. In recent days, Ukrainian forces have carried out a series of strikes on Russian infrastructure, including two ground relay antennas used to control 'Geran' and 'Gerbera' strike drones. One antenna was in occupied Zhelezny Port in Kherson Oblast, about 47 kilometers from the contact line, and the second in occupied Yelenovka in Crimea, about 130 kilometers from the combat zone. The Security Service of Ukraine also reported an attack on two Russian patrol boats of Project 10410 'Svetlyak' class, the 'Balaklava' and 'Kerch', located in the port of occupied Kerch. Ukrainian attacks are already affecting Crimea's energy system: on August 6, the Telegram channel 'Crimean Wind' reported power outages in Feodosia following attacks on July 28. Ukrainian forces stated that sections of roads M-14 and M-18, connecting Mariupol with Chongar, are under fire control. In occupied Crimea, rumors of a possible naval landing operation are spreading, and some Russian security officials are evacuating relatives. Military expert Vladislav Seleznev believes the strikes could push Putin toward peace initiatives.
