US Ambassador Mike Huckabee attended a Jerusalem screening of 'The Bridge,' a documentary about 10 Israelis whose lives were shattered by the October 7 attacks and who traveled to Los Angeles to rediscover the joy of making music at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp. The film follows participants including Tuval Haim, whose brother Yotam was kidnapped and killed, and Bar Rudaeff, whose father Lior was kidnapped and murdered. Huckabee said the film moved him deeply, noting music's power to help people put their worst moments behind them.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee attended an emotional screening of 'The Bridge' at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem this week. The documentary follows 10 Israelis whose lives were shattered by the October 7 attacks as they travel to Los Angeles to rediscover the joy of making music at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp. Huckabee, an enthusiastic bass guitarist, said the film moved him deeply, noting that music has the power to help people put their worst moments behind them. The film features participants including Tuval Haim, whose brother Yotam was kidnapped by Hamas and killed by friendly fire; Bar Rudaeff, whose father Lior was kidnapped and murdered; Nova survivor Raz Shifer; Ben King of Kibbutz Be'eri; and Valeria Dvorkin of Kibbutz Nir Am. All 10 suffered devastating losses and had stopped playing music after the attack. The trip took place in March 2024 amid rising anti-Israel demonstrations in the US. Rock Camp founder David Fishof said the experience changed Americans' views about Israel, noting that former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach, who knew little about Israel before meeting the delegation, later posted 'Am Yisrael Chai' in support. Fishof said he hopes to bring Rock Camp to Israel.
