Among other things, she stole credit cards from a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor and was exposed thanks to the nursing caregiver. The police are seeking to extend her detention.
A new indictment was filed today (Thursday) at the Haifa Magistrate's Court against Lior-Liora Nativ-Strasberg (Kazmoz), 54, for a systematic campaign of fraud and theft against helpless elderly people. According to the indictment, she posed as a public employee and stole credit cards, while her friend, who was supposed to supervise her under house arrest, became a full partner in the fraudulent acts. The Coastal District Prosecution claims she operates systematically to locate elderly and lonely victims, exploiting their weakness and health condition. During a search of her home, four wigs, two Clalit Health Services gowns, credit cards, and other items in the names of others were found. One of the main cases: on July 17, she arrived at the apartment of a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor in the French Carmel neighborhood of Haifa, wearing a wig and a gown with an HMO logo, and presented herself as a nurse. While the elderly woman waited for an examination, she exploited moments of solitude and stole her wallet. The nursing caregiver, an Indian foreign worker, noticed the theft of the ID card, confronted her, photographed her, and followed her. According to the indictment, she also stole credit cards in other cases, including at a hospital, at a painting class, and from an elderly couple in their 80s. The police are seeking to extend her detention until the end of proceedings.
