Psychologists surveyed hundreds of participants to assess how a potential partner's sexual past affects readiness for long-term relationships. The study, described in Psychology Today, showed that people with moderate experience—two to three previous relationships—are most appealing. With four partners, the readiness index was about seven out of nine points, and with more than sixty, it dropped to two. A surprising finding was that a complete lack of experience (virginity) was rated slightly lower than having two to three partners.
