How elections in Israel will be held in case of shelling - CEC decision

Israel's Central Elections Committee has developed a plan of action in case of rocket attacks on election day for the Knesset on October 27. According to the approved procedure, voting is immediately suspended when an air raid siren is sounded. The polling station controller must turn on a video camera for continuous recording. All envelopes not yet placed in the ballot box are put into a protective bag, after which the secretary or CEC employee seals the ballot box and moves it to a safe location. Priority is given to holding voting in protected areas, especially in communities near combat zones. The committee may use any suitable public buildings for polling stations. If voting in a protected area cannot be arranged in advance, a special evacuation procedure for the ballot box with mandatory video recording is applied during the alarm. Measures were also approved for voting by IDF soldiers serving in Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip. Earlier, it was reported that the Shin Bet has established a group to ensure election security.
