This week, Yemen's Houthis launched several strikes on Saudi Arabia, including attacks on oil infrastructure in the Eastern Province, where the kingdom's key energy hub is located. According to Reuters, some attacks were carried out from Iraqi territory with the involvement of Iran-linked groups and coordination by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Official statements diverge: Riyadh accuses groups linked to it in Iraq of launches, the Houthis claim responsibility, and Iraqi authorities have announced an investigation. On Wednesday night, the US jointly with Saudi Arabia struck targets in eastern Iraq. US Central Command stated the operation was a response to a missile attack on a US base in Jordan and more than 30 drone strikes that Washington claims were conducted with IRGC involvement over the past three days. Earlier, the Houthis warned of a risk of serious escalation and stated readiness to intensify actions if their demands are not met, refusing negotiations while the blockade of Yemen continues.
